Itinerary

    On arrival at Pafos or Larnaca international airport welcome and transfer to and drop off to selected hotel for check-in in Pafos. 

    1. Pafos Castle & Harbour

    • Highlights:Start the tour at the iconic Pafos Castle, a medieval fortress situated at the edge of Pafos Harbour. Learn about its storied past as a Byzantine fortress, a prison, and even a salt warehouse under Ottoman rule. The harbour area is lively and perfect for waterfront photos, with colourful boats and quaint cafes lining the promenade.

    2. Petra tou Romiou (Aphrodite’s Rock)


    • Highlights: Start with a stop at the iconic Petra tou Romiou, believed to be the birthplace of Aphrodite. The guide will share engaging stories about Aphrodite’s connection to Cyprus and the legends surrounding her emergence from the sea here. Free time for the group to take photos, enjoy the view, or stroll along the beach.


    3. Kouklia Village and Sanctuary of Aphrodite

    • Highlights: Arrive in Kouklia, once home to the Sanctuary of Aphrodite, one of the most significant ancient worship centres in Cyprus. The guide will lead the group through the remains of the Temple of Aphrodite, explaining its role in ancient worship rituals and ceremonies.

    • Guide Introduction: A professional guide will accompany the group, introducing the day’s itinerary and providing insights into Cypriot culinary traditions, especially halloumi, the famous Cypriot cheese, and traditional bread-making.


    2. Arrival at Sofias Place – Traditional Cooking Workshop

    • Highlights: Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed by Sofia, a local expert in traditional Cypriot cuisine. Sofia will introduce herself and the family farm, sharing her passion for Cypriot culinary traditions and explaining the history of halloumi and bread in Cypriot culture. Halloumi Cheese-Making: Under Sofia’s guidance, the group will participate in the halloumi cheese-making process. Participants will learn how to prepare and shape the cheese by hand and understand the techniques involved in making authentic Cypriot halloumi. Sofia will demonstrate the steps from curdling milk to pressing and shaping the cheese. Traditional Bread-Making: Next, the group will learn how to make Cypriot village bread from scratch, with Sofia explaining the importance of bread in Cypriot family meals. Participants will mix, knead, and shape their own dough, which will then be baked in a traditional clay oven.


    3. Brunch at Sofias Place – Enjoying Local Flavors

    • Highlights: After the hands-on cooking experience, group members will enjoy a delicious brunch at Sofia’s Place, featuring fresh halloumi and bread made during the workshop. The brunch includes a selection of traditional Cypriot dishes, such as olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, local jams, yogurt, and fresh fruit, along with Cypriot coffee and refreshing juices. Sofia will share stories about Cypriot family meals and the significance of these foods in daily life, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.


    4. Guided Visit to Ayios Neophytos Monastery

    • Highlights: The group will explore the Ayios Neophytos Monastery, founded in the 12th century by Saint Neophytos. The monastery is known for its well-preserved frescoes and stunning cliffside location. The tour includes a visit to Enkleistra, a cave carved out of the mountain by Saint Neophytos himself, where he lived and prayed. The guide will explain the significance of this holy site and the beautiful frescoes dating from the Byzantine period. The group will also visit the main church of the monastery, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, with its richly decorated iconostasis and additional 16th-century frescoes. Time for quiet reflection and to take in the serene atmosphere of the monastery grounds.

    At the appropriate time, transfer to Pafos or Larnaca Airport.
